In a tavern in the wall, you can drown sorrows in brew,
When you find yourself alone, I'll be here for you.
Where girls bring you drinks, and nobody has to care,
That this old musty shirt is all you have left to wear.

You see the guy in the corner? he hasn't seen his wife.
And the woman in the back is mourning the loss of a life.
Yes, the singer on stage had a much bigger dream.
That had faded with time, or so it would seem.

There's a tavern in the wall where we dim the lights,
Where pipe fumes billow onto the floor out of sight.
The counter tops are weathered, beaten with time,
by the bottoms of bottles bought dime after dime.

If you find yourself alone, we'll be here for you.
the man in the corner and the beautiful singer too.
All the tired faces in all the world's bars.
Sharing a drink we call loneliness under the stars.
